After a series of successful immersive events, Polysonica launches its namesake record label with the live album "Quadri Sacri Live at Polysonica" by Maurizio Sebastianelli, set to be released on February 2nd in CD and digital formats. The performance, which took place on February 22, 2023, captivated the audience with a set of original compositions such as "Implorazione," "Magnificat 6," "Sanctuseb," and "Crucifixus", blending contemporary classical and sacred music. An invitation to listeners to immerse themselves in the harmonies of a dynamic dialogue created by the interaction between the Polyphonic Choir City of Palestrina and the Orchestra Circolo de’ Musici, performing the composer's pieces.
"Quadri Sacri Live at Polysonica" revisits the magnetism of a unique performance at the Sant’Agapito Cathedral in Palestrina (Rome), the very place where the "Prince of Music" Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina took his first steps.
A diverse tracklist that openly embraces eclecticism as an artistic choice, revealing—in its stylistic composure—the composer's mastery in employing a wide range of techniques. It weaves together Gregorian quotes, ancient contrapuntal structures, tangos, and captivating harmonies, showcasing a profoundly original style.
"Quadri Sacri Live at Polysonica" seamlessly blends the traditional with the contemporary, presenting the composer's creative journey from 1999 to the present day—with pieces specially composed for the Polysonica Live. A musical journey that invites listeners to immerse themselves, filling the spaces beyond time.
Recorded live by Andrea Di Nunzio, with mixing and mastering carried out at NMG Recording Studio by Alex Di Nunzio. The album is available on CD and various streaming platforms from February 2nd and will be presented on February 4th with an immersive event at the Ex Convento Antonelli in Palestrina, RM.
